The European Union
should have stronger policy to implement free and open source
software, says Marisa Matias, Member of the European Parliament. "Public
administrations should not spend huge amounts of money on proprietary
software when there are free and open source alternatives available".

is the resource aimed at providing information on Free & Open Source
Software for stakeholders in, and interested in, all levels of
Government.

geographical area, and aim to provide an extensive, global resource. Format of the resource is Portal, which means that information
is gathered from various sources, and linked to this central resource.
