The development of modern information and communication technologies

requires changing information infrastructures of higher education and

research institutions. More than ever, agreements, cooperation,

recommendations and standards are required. The German Initiative for

Network Information (DINI) is founded in order to coordinate and to

foster the handling of these changes. DINI is committed to developing

information infrastructures and thus improving information and communication

services.  By establishing agreements with and by the distribution of tasks

among the infrastructure facilities the range of services can be improved significantly.
